Terms of Service

1. What Riviy is, and what it is not

Riviy is a tool for recording and valuing investments you already own. You enter your positions; we multiply them by prices from a market-data provider and show you the result.

Riviy does not give investment advice and is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner. Nothing on the service is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. We do not know your circumstances, goals, or tax position, and nothing we display takes them into account.

The Riviy Portfolio is a disclosure, not a signal. Where we publish positions Riviy itself holds, we do so for transparency. It is a statement of what we own, not a suggestion that you own it. Past performance does not predict future results.

Riviy does not execute trades, hold your money or securities, and has no access to any brokerage account. We never ask for brokerage credentials.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.

You must verify your email address before signing in. An account that is never verified is deleted after seven days, along with anything in it.

We offer two-factor authentication and recommend enabling it. Accounts with operator privileges are required to use it.

3. Trial, subscription, and payment

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with full access. The trial begins when you sign up and needs no payment method.

Tracking your own portfolio is free, permanently. When the trial ends you keep full read and write access to the positions you entered. What a subscription buys is The Riviy Portfolio — our published holdings, in full, and the notifications when they change.

Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe, in US dollars, and renew automatically until canceled. Prices are shown before you pay. Riviy never receives or stores your card number.

You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund partial periods, except where the law requires it.

We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email. A change takes effect at your next renewal, and you may cancel before it if you would rather not continue.

4. Market data

Prices come from a third-party provider and are cached. They are delayed, not live, and every screen shows the time the price was struck. Do not rely on them for trading decisions or for any purpose where a stale or wrong number would cost you something.

Market data may be unavailable, incomplete, or incorrect. When we have no price for a symbol we show a dash rather than a zero, and totals say how many positions they exclude. We do not warrant that any figure is accurate.

5. Your content

Your positions, notes, and account details remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store that information, process it, and display it back to you.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share your holdings with other users.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service to break the law, or to help anyone else do so;
• scrape, resell, or redistribute the market data or The Riviy Portfolio — our own license from the data provider does not permit it, and neither do these Terms;
• share one account between several people, or resell access;
• interfere with the service or attempt to reach parts of it you have not been given access to.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Riviy running but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you are paying for, we will give notice and refund the unused part of your current period.

8. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or where we are required to. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of your current period.

On closure we delete your account data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for investment losses. You make your own decisions about your money. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Some states do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as that state permits.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the product before they take effect. Continuing to use Riviy after that means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, you may cancel.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, none of this takes away a protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the state you live in.
